Lynne Patton, Trump administration official, commented on the Hatch Act meant to ‘prevent pernicious political activities.’ “I honestly don’t care anymore,” posted Patton on Facebook.
Patton retweeted a post criticizing liberals, which may be considered as violation of the Hatch Act. “Just retweeted this amazing tweet from both of my Twitter accounts – professional and personal,” Patton wrote. “It may be a Hatch Act violation. It may not be. Either way, I honestly don’t care anymore.”
“In the end, [liberals] will only serve to destroy themselves and this great country when successful men and women from the private sector refuse to become public servants and a target of their undeserving partisan hate and obstruction,” Patton added.
According to the Office of Special Counsel (which is not the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Office, but a separate one) report, this is not the first case of violation of the Hatch Act by Trump White House officials. Dan Scavino Jr., the White House director of social media, Nikki Haley, former U.N. Ambassador, Stephanie Grisham, the first lady Melania Trump’s communication director, and other officials have been warned by the OSC over the past few years for sharing various tweets considered to be violating the Act.
