US Senate resists Trump crackdowns on Iran

The US Senate is going to resist Donald Trump’s intentions to starts crackdowns on Iran.

The eight Republicans supported the Democratic House to put this issue an end on Thursday. According to the resolution, the US President will have to pull the American troops from  Iran proving the Congress does not announce or consider any other reason for military force.

Trump itself alongside his supporters believes that Iran and others will not accept such a decision seriously.

“It is very important for our Country’s SECURITY that the United States Senate not vote for the Iran War Powers Resolution. We are doing very well with Iran and this is not the time to show weakness,” Trump tweeted.

Nevertheless, Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said: “We don’t send a message of weakness when we stand up for the rule of law.” In addition, only the Senate is able to declare the war, not the president.

This claim followed the incident in Baghdad during which Major General Qasem Soleimani was killed.
