US holds raids against immigrants without documents

The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents hold raids throughout the country on Sunday to arrest immigrants who are supposed to be sent back to their homeland.

Earlier, hundreds of families in nine major cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles and New York are expected to become a target of the campaign.

People enter this country illegally, and we export them legally,” Trump explained.

ICE agents mainly aim at immigrants who are considered dangerous. ICE director Matthew Albans stated that the wanted immigrants are included in the “expedited list” for immigration cases.

The raids are expected to be positively received by voters who had previously voted for Trump, based on his repeated promises to solve the problem of illegal immigration.

According to Trump, a “large percentage of criminals” have already been kept in detention centers in Texas, near the US-Mexican border, where US Vice President Mike Pence visited on Friday.

Sorry, I can’t let them in our country,” Trump tweeted. “If there (in the detention centers) is too crowded, then tell them not to come to the US, and tell the Democrats – eliminate the loopholes – and the problem is solved!

The president noted that the tour, which took place on Friday, “clearly showed politicians and the press how well the places of detention for children work and how clean there are. Great reviews!

Acting Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli rejected that the raids were a political tool.

At that time, when many people in the government said that this crisis was artificial … these people are now coming to the border and they understand that we really have a crisis,” he said.

Sunday raids also take place in Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Miami and San Francisco.
