US concerns about China’s growing influence

According to the US undersecretary of defense for policy John Rood, the U.S. considers the China influence and Russian strategy of nuclear weapon as the threats to the national security.

It occured that China has take the lead in the threats list for U.S. as it had the opportunity to change its life.

In Rood’s words, China is “the one country, the largest country, with the ability to change our way of life in the United States, and change the global order, for good or ill,” adding that “It’s promoting an authoritarian model, and it’s closely coupled with military activities: Strategic military activities, intelligence activities and the line between commercial activities in today’s China and those of the state is a very, very thin line that exists mostly on paper.”

Beijing and Washington have recently faced with the difficulties towards the trade with Taiwan.

The US President Donald Trump has put the high tariff on the Chinese product, blaming China for the usage of deceitful trade practices for misuse of the U.S. companies and using trade laws of the country.

China was dissatisfied with the U.S. treatment to armaments sale in Taiwan breaching the Chinese policy that admits the island as a part of China’s mainland.

Meanwhile, Washington blamed Beijing for preventing of oil and gas supply in the the South China Sea, intelligence and production in Vietnam, as well.

“The United States firmly opposes coercion and intimidation by any claimant to assert its territorial or maritime claims. China should cease its bullying behavior and refrain from engaging in this type of provocative and destabilizing activity.”

However, Chris Brose, a former director of the armed services committee responsible for funding and oversight of the US defense department, urged the Pentagon to keep tabs on the Chinese territorial ambitions in the South China Sea and on the Indian border, too.

“There is an expansiveness that I think is concerning, and I don’t know where it ends,” he said. “I think that’s ultimately what the United States needs to focus on … having the ability to deter expansionist and aggressive acts on the part of China.”
