As Washington pulls its diplomatic staff from Baghdad, capital of Iraq, concerned about possible threats from Iran, US-allied Bahrain asks its citizens to return «immediately» if they are currently in Iraq or Iran and not to travel to the abovementioned countries for safety reasons.
According to the reports by Bahrain News Agency, officials cited «unstable regional circumstances, dangerous developments and potential threats» as a reason for warning, which came right after tensions between Iran and the US worsened.
The tensions between the US and Iran are not a new thing. The worst and deadliest confrontation happened in July 1988 when an Iranian commercial airliner carrying 290 people, including 66 children, was shot down by an American warship, as they allegedly «mistook the plane for a fighter jet.»
