Trump explained feud with Russia

There is no reason for the U.S. not to get along with Russia. The investigation of Special Prosecutor Robert Muller had a bad effect on relations with Moscow, said US President Donald Trump.

“We have been watching this for 2.5 years. And this is the best that they [Democrats] have. And this is a shame. And they are laughed at in the World. Unfortunately, it is very bad for our country, bad for our relations with other countries, including Russia. There is no reason for us not to get along with Russia. There is no reason for us not to get along with other countries,” Head of the White House told reporters.

Despite claims that there were no reasons for bad relations with Moscow, Trump regularly reminds that no one before him has taken such tough measures against Russia, including numerous sanctions and the mass expulsion of diplomats.

On August 2, the U.S. intends to withdraw from the the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, and the official position of the Administration towards another fundamental document in the field of strategic stability – the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START-3), which expires in early 2021, is still not considered.

Besides, the U.S. actively puts pressure on different countries, prompting them to refuse from the acquisition of Russian weapons. Washington also actively opposes to the construction of the Nord Stream-2 pipeline.

Muller investigated the assumption of “Russian interference” into the elections, which Moscow denies. However, he did not find evidence of a “conspiracy” between Trump and Russia, the existence of which was denied both in the Kremlin and in the White House.
