Taliban says no other way to end occupation in Afghanistan than jihad

The Taliban claimed Tuesday that they will keep fighting against the US military forces in Afghanistan, Sputnik news reported.

The claim comes after US President Donald Trump’s statement that peace negotiations between the US and Taliban were ‘dead.’ Trump called off a meeting with leaders of Afghanistan and the Taliban when the latter claimed responsibility for the bombing in Kabul, which left dozens dead, including one US soldier.

Zabihullah Mujahid, Spokesman for the group, told reporters that the Taliban leaders “had two ways to end the occupation in Afghanistan.”

“One was jihad and fighting, the other was talks and negotiations,” he explained.

Mujahid went on saying that now there were no ways other than jihad.
