Russia’s Rosaviatsiya, air traffic agency, is ready to negotiate the resumption of air links between Russia and Ukraine with the Ukrainian officials, reported Russian news agency TASS.
The Director of Rosaviatsiya Alexander Neradko told the reporters Monday that his agency is prepared for talks with Ukrainian aviation administration.
“We have been ready all the way. Now I can confirm the readiness for full-scale talks with the Ukrainian aviation administration on all issues that concern air links and other related matters,” he said.
Ukraine terminated air links with Russia in October, 2015, and sanctioned most of the Russian air carriers. In response to that Russia prohibited Ukrainian flights.
This is not the first time Rosaviatsiya expresses its readiness to hold talks with Ukraine on restoring the air links. Earlier this year it issued a public call to fully restore the air links, yet the two countries have not discussed the issue. Last month an activist group in Ukraine also addressed its newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky, requesting him to resume the links with Russia.
