Representative Peter King, Republican, claimed Sunday that there was “no legal basis” for investigating Trump campaign, reported The Hill.
In an interview with John Catsimatidis, Mr. King said he believed that “there was no legal basis at all for them to begin this investigation of his campaign.” He also noted that there were “severe, serious abuses” in the way the investigation was carried out.
King hopes that the review of the probe would prove that FBI acted improperly. “All of this is going to come out. It’s going to show the bias. It’s going to show the baselessness of the investigation, and how dangerous it is to democracy.”
“I would say the same thing if this were done to Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. It’s just wrong.”
US President Donald Trump has been repeatedly saying that there was no reason for investigating him and accused FBI of “spying” on his campaign.
