Pentagon ordered study of Northern Russia

The US Pentagon’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is looking for the campaign to carr out the studies on the Arctic Circle markets with the following reports.

The list of interesting regions includes Kolguev islands, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Murmansk Oblast, the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago, the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the Novosibirsk islands. In addition to the Russian territories, the list includes Greenland, Alaska, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.

The document say that the reports must contain information about the places bottled water, food, clothes, petroleum products and medical preparations are supplied from, and data on the availability of each of these local natural resources and materials, as well.

Moreover, contractors will have to make up a list of the most frequently used seaports, airports, roads and train stations with their characteristics.

According to the document, the goal of this study is to improve the ability of the commercial sector throughout the world to “respond to the mobilization needs of the US government when an emergency situation arises.”

The reports are also noted that these studies are necessary for the Pentagon under the Industrial Base Expansion (IBex) Program, which aims to collect data on the capabilities of commercial enterprises around the world to promote the operations of the US army and help its work in disaster management.
