MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said that supporters of President Donald trump just don’t care what he does because they’re mad at Washington, D.C. – and her co-host, “Morning Joe”, said they have one important common characteristic.
They, together with new York Times columnist Bret Stephens, discussed his warning that the trends of foreign elections predict trump’s victory in the re-election, but Scarborough said that the US has one support against it.
“I think one of the most remarkable things about voting trends is that black women in Central Alabama, not in the extracurricular elections, correctly, in the special election, came out and voted against the Republican candidate in numbers that even exceeded the figures for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012,” Scarborough said. “You’re looking at what women have been doing across America – in Northern Virginia, southern California – going out, standing in the rain to vote against trump supporters in Congress.”
“I think America has awakened to the dangers of this short-term thinking,” he added. “I think conservatives, I think highly educated women in the suburbs, they’re gone forever from the trump Republican party. So I think we need to take a warning, this is a global trend, (but) I hope… no one will be disgraced in 2020 by Donald trump’s lies.”
“I’m still surprised at how many people are just so mad at Washington, and they don’t care, and they plan to vote for it,” she said. “They don’t care what he does, they’re just mad at Washington.”
According to Scarborough, this group is limited to one demographic group.
“They’re white, they’re white,” he said. “They’re not black voters who show Charlottesville and other things that Donald trump did, who called the leaders of all black countries in the Caribbean and Africa, he said they were s-hole countries because they weren’t white countries. If you are a woman, you see one misogynistic statement and action after another.
“White men may still be saying that (they don’t care),” he added, ” but it’s a shrinking electorate for Donald J. Trump’s.”
