McCabe says Trump «unfairly» branded him «a liar»

Former US FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe claimed that the US President Donald Trump’s direction to fire him from the bureau was not fair.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper of CNN, McCabe, who was fired after leaking information to media, claimed that he was “unfairly branded a liar.”

“To be removed from that organization and unfairly branded a liar because that was the desired outcome by the president has just been one of the most sickening and demeaning experiences of my life,” McCabe said adding that it was “horrendous.”

“And it is unfortunate that having listened to propaganda like Fox News, there’s — you know, there are many people in this country that will believe that forever.”

According to a report by the US Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, McCabe has repeatedly lied to FBI. The IG stated that McCabe “lacked candour” in interviews on Oct. 31, 2016, May 9, 2017, July 28, 2017, and Nov. 29, 2017.
