Massive attack injures 100 in Kabul

A bomb-laden truck exploded in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, near the Embassy of the US on Monday, leaving at least 100 injured, including 35 children, reported Reuters.

The truck exploded at the rush hour, when streets were full of people. After the explosion a group of armed Taliban men stormed a building news the Ministry of Defense, said government security officials.

The Taliban militants reportedly claimed the responsibility for the attack. Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban spokesman, said that “the target was the defense ministry’s technical installation.”

The attack comes in the midst of Afghan Peace talks between Taliban and the US.
