Jeffrey Epstein commits suicide

Jeffery Epstein, who was arrested in June and accused of sex trafficking and raping of minors, has committed suicide, reported New York Post Saturday. Law enforcement sources confirmed Epstein’s death.

Epstein, 66, was under suicide watch after his attempt to injure himself two weeks ago. The multimillionaire arrested on June 6 was detained without bail and awaiting his trial. He pleaded not guilty of sex-trafficking charges imposed against him. If convicted he would have faced up to 45 years in prison. Previously Epstein managed to avoid similar federal charges in 2008 and served only 13 months in jail.

The exact circumstances are not known, yet it has been reported that Epstein may have hanged himself on Friday night. His body was found at 7:30 in the morning in his jail cell at metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.
