Former US Secretary of State called for straightening US-Russian Relations


The former Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger met with Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov on November, 7, where he supported the necessity of the improvement of the US-Russian relations.

“Kissinger is certain that there will be a clear realization that straightening the relations needed. We have discussed many issues. Mr. Kissinger advocated strengthening strategic stability between the Russian Federation and the United States,” the ambassador said.

In his words, the former US Secretary of State believes that current relations are not in accord with the interests of the nations of both countries and should not be in such a state for long.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Henry Kissinger and discussed the prospects for the development of the US-Russian relations within the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. The parties also touched upon topical issues on the international agenda, reported.
